These announcements point to the fact that EA sees some real longevity in The Sims 4, so there is unlikely to be a Sims 5 on the horizon any time soon. The developers have confirmed, too, that they have made changes to the EA Play Edition, adding the Get To Work Expansion Pack to it, while the EA Play Pro Edition will have the Toddler Stuff Pack too. Those tend to make the game feel complete but it does not appear that they will be free, meaning new players will still need to buy them if they opt to take advantage of The Sims 4’s base game being free.ĮA has also committed to continuing to support the game, saying they will “continue to develop and release packs, kits and Sims Delivery Express drops into the foreseeable future.” The Sims 4, per Eurogamer, has received 12 Expansion Packs, 12 Game Packs, 18 Stuff Packs, and 15 Kit Packs. There is yet to be an announcement on price changes for the huge suite of DLC that has been released over the game’s lifespan. The game currently costs £17.99 or $19.99 to buy but it will be dropped to absolutely nothing from next month.
